Breast Thermogram Interpretation Service Procedures — Examination Data
Selecting Submit Image(s) for Lab Assessment from the User's Main Menu brings you to the Examination Information Form:
Practitioner, email, Practice and Phone are already filled in with the practice-related information entered during the registration process. Complete the Examination Form per the following instructions:
- Pt ID: Enter the identifier you use to identify the patient being examined. This is usually the name of the patient, or the patient's file identification number.
- Examination Date: If during registration you opted to use Use Today's Date, the date shown will be the current date. Optionally, deselect Use Today's Date and manually enter an examination date.
- On which breast(s) does patient report physical symptoms of breast disorder? The stored preferential answer is the default selection. This may be changed by clicking on either the Right or the Left checkbox, or both, depending on which breast(s) the patient reports a disorder. When selecting either or both breasts a new dialog is shown soliciting the disorder characteristic and the location of the patient's reported disorder. Note that unchecking checkbox erases any information previously entered.
- Was patient prepared for examination consistent with TAS-recommended protocol? The stored preferences answer is the default selection. This may be changed by clicking on the No checkbox. Each solicitation for information must then be answered:
Next to be entered are optional examiner comments. These will be visible to the analyst throughout the interpretation procedure. Knowledge of artifacts, significant blemishes, sunburn, etc., are important and may be noted in the space provided.
Next, select the number of images are you submitting for this examination. Remember that all examinations submitted must include views of the breasts consisting of a frontal image, including the sternum, and lateral images that include the axillary regions.
Once the number of images to submit has been clicked, the same number of browsing fields and buttons is displayed. Click on each of the Choose buttons to locate and select each image you are submitting.
After all images to submit have been identified, click the Submit Information and Upload Image(s) button. After a short time, you will receive confirmation that your examination has been received.
A report of thermographic findings based on the information you submitted will be sent to you by email.
